CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Congratulations as the owner of a Midwest Spa Covers & Accessories. spa cover for your spa/hot tub. Your spa cover is made by from top quality materials, using exacting craftsmanship. Upon receipt of your cover, please inspect it. No returns will be accepted after 7 days after receipt from your dealer, unless covered by warranty. A moisture saturated cover will not be accepted for exchange or modification.
DO NOT
Use products that contain petroleum distillates, waxes, saddle soap, silicone, abrasives or alcohol !!!! Do not power wash. Use of these substances voids your warranty.
The use of Armorall is not recommended.
Hang your cover by the fastener tabs, handles, pull on or lift cover by fastener tabs.
Splash chemicals on your cover, damage may result.
Walk, climb, jump or play on the cover.
Be under the cover when the cover is on the spa.
Place objects on the cover in cold weather or use snow shovel directly on the vinyl material.
Use a cover lift. Damage could result from using a cover lift; which voids your warranty, immediately.
DO
Periodically use a protective treatment designated for marine vinyl products. The material used for your cover is treated with ultra-violet(UV) inhibitors to help prevent fading. The use of a protective treatment, like 303 Aerospace Protectant is suggested, since it will prolong the life of your cover. The use of Armorall is not recommended.
Often clean dust and dirt off your cover with a mild soap and cool water. If you must use a cleaner/conditioner, be sure it is specially formulated for marine vinyl.
Make sure all water and snow is swept off and kept from accumulating on the cover. Snow accumulation may create a weight factor, which in time could bow or break the foam core or tear the cover. Foam core damage, of any type, for any reason, is not warranted.
Once a month, stand your cover on end in a warm area to let the excess moisture drain from it. Rinse the bottom with fresh water. The foam core of your cover has been wrapped and heat sealed in plastic film to retard absorption of water. Extra care will prolong its life.
A floating cover should be used to prolong the life of your cover.
WAIT 20 minutes before you put the cover on after adding chemicals
Attaching Fastener Straps Locks to the Tub : Do not pull on the fastener straps. Just take the slack out on the strap on the cover. Attach the female side of the lock combination to the cabinet with screws provided.
Using a Bar style Cover Lifting Device: Always flip half of the cover over, climb in the tub, lift from the middle until off the tub. Lift from behind to place back on the tub. Operating a lifter soley from the side can tear the seam area, voiding your warranty. The cover lift bar twists in the seam area; which is destructive to the seam or fold and shortens it's life, even with the seamSaver Option.
Effective 9/1/09.
